Unique issue assault gun wrap modified for wear by a Heer Panzerjäger Oberleutnant, standard issue garment of mid war quality wool that underwent significant modification, having light grey colored rayon lining materails, with size and E43 depot stampings in black ink, chest size 104, RBNr is stamped to the inside of the opposite internal pocket, hook and eye were removed from the wrap's collar, the lapel buttonhole stitching was removed and the buttonholes were sewn into the closed position, a new inner lining was applied at the shoulders with the shoulders being padded, the skirt's hem was shortened and one button position was removed, the lower inner button tab and the corresponding closure button was eliminated, the remaining three front closure buttons (one is missing) were slightly re-positioned and each was anchored to a small inner button sewn to the lining, the inner belt hook support straps and the tape ties and tunnels were removed, the waist was taken in slightly and new iverted elongated V sections of wool were sistered into the lower front waist for better fit, the sleeve ends were slightly shortened by folding the lower edges inward and sewing them into place via machine straight stitch, further, the collar was modified with the addition of rosa colored synthetic piping having been applied to the outer edges, this was done by opening the collar seam and inserting the flat portion into the edge, collar patches of lighter contrasting fabric were fashioned and applied by hand stitching, each collar patch has synthetic piping and the silvered Totenkopfen have rosa colored fabric placed behind the eyes and nose, each skull's rounded flat prongs penetrate the collar, the shoulder strap bridles were removed and a pair of shoulder boards, each with gothic P and a single rank pip were sewn into the shoulder seams, the zinc devices have lost much of their gilt finish and one board has insect damage, a bullion national emblem is hand sewn to the right breast, an Ostfront ribbon is sewn to the lapel, there are loops for a short ribbon bar and two badges, included are a stamped Bronze Panzer Assault Badge and a Black Wound Badge, overall the wrap is in mostly unworn condition, there are a few brownish stains but these are more evident in the photos than in person, a one of a kind item displaying the fashion prerogatives of an officer, USD $5450 SOLD
