Outstanding Heer EM Bergmütze style M43 cap, highly interesting example that exhibits the high peak and short brim of the classic Bergmütze but has construction features and materials of a typical issue M43 cap, this cap was worn in service and externally show traces of age and wear, internally the lining exhibits a bit more soiling and sweat staining, the rayon lining is assembled of two slightly contrasting tones of grey colored rayon, the top panel has a black ink block stamping with RBNr, size 57 and 1943 date, the earmuff loops and bias materials are also fashioned from grey colored rayon, the cap's shell is made of mid war issue quality field grey wool, the subdued woven trapezoid shaped insignia is factory straight machine stitched, the pair of field grey painted pebbled buttons are factory sewn, the variant stamped silver washed alloy Edelweiss has more acutely textured stems and petals, the separately applied stamen's gilt finish is faint, it is applied with short lengths of UV negative tan cotton thread, amazing cap, USD $2650
