Outstanding 'M41' style issue service blouse for a Heer Artillerie Stabsfeldwebel, superlative example with just hints of wear and free of alteration or damage, 'textbook' in every way being constructed of early mid war quality field grey colored wool with a black painted steel hook and eye at the throat, six button front closure, four pleated patch pockets with deeply scalloped pocket flaps, adjustable cuffs and central rear vent, lining and bandage pocket bag are of slightly differing shades of grey colored ribbed cotton, the inner vertical reverse button placket is faintly stamped in large black fonts with sizes (chest 98) and '41 date, the large manufacturer's stamp is applied in red ink to the bandage pocket, the collar liner, bandage pocket and cuff buttons are black plastic, the outermost cuff buttons were removed from each sleeve, the field grey painted buttons are marked R.D. and are originally stitched, the pair of shoulder strap buttons are unmarked but they too are originally sewn, the subdued woven pattern insignia are factory sewn, the collar Litzen are straight machine stitched, the national emblem is applied in the 'zip and flip' style by being machine straight stitched along the top edge of the eagle's wing, with the remainder folded over and the lower portions being sewn by hand, the subdued rayon NCO Tresse is straight machine stitched to the lower edge of collar and to the matched pair of slip on shoulder straps using the same threads for both top and bobbin, the shoulder straps have rayon piping and ribbed cotton tongue reinforcements, each strap has three small aluminum rank pips which are secured on the straps' underside with a mesh ring and with the prongs of each pip being bent into the opposing direction (presumably with the intent to prevent their rotation), based on the size, Tresse sewing, and matching condition, there is a high degree of confidence that the straps are original to the tunic, condition is excellent with the only appreciable sign of wear being to the rear collar edge where it came into contact with the wearer's neck, USD $4500
